Eli Don adopts a “Green Goblin” persona on new single

Hailing from Southend-on-Sea, Eli Don has built a loyal fanbase over 2022 thanks to his breezy flows and lo-fi productions.

On Friday, he dropped his latest single ‘Green Goblin’, which uses sporadic flute samples and spooky chord progressions to create an eeriness comparable to Cult of the Damned. Cheeky weed and Willem Defoe referencing punchlines make it easy to immerse oneself in the song’s lyrical heat and the various topics Don addresses. On an infectious hook, the wordsmith dismisses the extravagant styles of many rappers and promotes the natural waviness he has developed since his early days on pirate radio.

The visuals feel like you’re peering through a keyhole, watching Don reflect on his career thus far. There’s beauty in the video’s simplicity, allowing the viewer to engage with his bars as well as the lowkey editing features.

Check the track out below; give it a listen before heading to his Spotify to find more music from the artist.
