WHAT WE HAVE DISCOVERED IN THE WORLD OF MUSIC

NEW ARTIST - NOKIA MANSION

Whilst browsing new music on Soundcloud earlier today I stumbled across the artist 'NOKIA MANSION', who before today I had never heard of. Just 15 seconds in to their song titled 'ROLLING' I was shocked as to how I had not heard of them before. Their Octavian-esque trap beats and vocals are exactly what the British rap scene is craving right now. Their latest track 'Anyone', which just came out a day ago, is definitely a track of his to also check out.

NEW ALBUMS ON THEIR WAY

Slowthai - Nothing Great About Britain

At the end of March, Slowthai announced on his Instagram that his debut album 'Nothing Great About Britain' will be released on the 17th May 2019. After seeing what Slowthai has achieved over the last few years, including the release of two banging EPs and plenty of memorable singles, it's fair to say that us here at REPEAT have been waiting for this album eagerly. Seeing him live a few times has also grown our hunger for his debut album. He released the tracklist of the album which includes 11 songs and features such as Skepta and Jaykae. His latest single 'Gorgeous' is the 4th song on the album and is a true representative of Slowthai's huge talent and potential.

Octavian - Bizarre

Just yesterday Octavian released a teaser of his second album release on his Instagram. We don't know much about this album so far. The album appears to be titled 'Bizarre', and judging by the album artwork Essie released, we can assume that his latest single 'Bet', with Skepta and Michael Phantom, will feature on the album. Octavian chose to use a maths problem as a way of suggesting the album's release date. By doing this he has increased the anticipation and hype around the albums release and has left his fans confused yet excited. See if you can figure it out whilst listening to his latest tune...

WHAT WE HAVE DISCOVERED IN THE WORLD OF FASHION

NEW COLLAB

Supreme x Jean Paul Gaultier

The widely hyped, skater, streetwear brand Supreme has come together to work with the punky, Parisian, high end brand Jean Paul Gaultier on a new range of clothing dropping this Thursday (11/04/19). Before the announcement of this drop I had never thought of the idea of these two brands collaborating, however I was surprised at how sick it looked when they released some images of the clothes. The drop has a huge range of clothing styles, including tracksuits, fur coats, blazers, Vans trainers and even a new fragrance. I will definitely try to cop something, although I have a funny feeling it will go fast...

NEW CREPS

BAPE Spring/Summer 2019 BAPESTAs

BAPE's classic BAPESTAs never fail to impress, they will always be one of the hardest pair of creps on the streetwear market. This year's come in a trio of bold, vibrant colours, including a green, white and red pair inspired by the Italian flag.

David Bowie x Vans

The skater, streetwear brand Vans have released a new range of trainers inspired by the works of David Bowie. The range includes their classic slip-on plimsoles, Era's, Old Skool's, and Sk8-Hi's. With these shoes they have referenced David Bowie’s most recognised albums, such as Black Star, Hunky Dory, Space Oddity, Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane.

WHAT WE HAVE DISCOVERED IN THE WORLD OF FILM

UPCOMING RELEASE

Once Upon a Time In Hollywood

A teaser trailer for Quentin Tarantino's 9th Picture was recently released and has got fans talking none stop. While the teaser only has a duration of under 2 minutes this does not mean it hasn't become a hugely anticipated and talked about feature in this last month. However how much do we actually know so far? The trailer shows that the film will be set in the late 1960s and will be based around a television star and his stunt double. The trailer also stated that the film's release will be this July, which for me can't come quick enough. We also know the cast includes the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Al Pacino, which is just a taste of the success this film should become. We can also say that, judging by Tarantino's previous pictures, the film should not be without its gory, graphic violence which he has become so well known for.
