ON REPEAT PLAYLIST UPDATE: MARCH

All of our favourite earworms, updated every month.

There’s plenty to get stuck into in March’s On REPEAT playlist update. From textured remixes by Shy One and Hagan to intergalactic link-ups between kwes e and Jawnino, and new releases from David Armada and KEYAH/BLU, satisfy your new music itch below.

Mac Wetha ft Bawo - Massive Chain

Mac Wetha has returned with his vastly anticipated follow up to ‘Mac Wetha & Friends’. This highlight, ‘Massive Chain’ features none other than revered wordsmith Bawo, who always brings heat to tracks with his notorious feature game. The whole project continues the rising songwriter’s knack for catchy melodies and endless chemistry with close collaborators, producing some of his most captivating work yet.

slowthai - Wotz Funny

Earlier this month, long-time REPEAT favourite slowthai dropped his most sonically courageous album yet, ‘UGLY’. The album's sound spans from alt-rock to dance-punk and abrasive electronics - one standout, rich in old school punk influence, is ‘Wotz Funny’. The track’s shouted chorus brings mosh pit-inducing energy, whilst the verses are rich in social commentary.

Nix Northwest - Xin Your Head

Nix Northwest dropped ‘Xin’s Disappearance’ this month, and it’s not a project you should overlook. The record transports you to a serene setting with his trademark, laid-back sound, whilst Nix comfortingly delivers autobiographical tales. If you want just one highlight to convince you to give it a spin, try out ‘Xin Your Head’ a nocturnal jazzy cut with slick rhyme schemes and rich instrumentation.

KEYAH/BLU - Ring The Alarm

It’s not an easy listen, but that’s the beauty of ‘Ring The Alarm’. In an era when so many play it safe and try to make something so listenable, it’s refreshing to find KEYAH/BLU willing to challenge her audience. Sorry, I Forgot You Were Coming, her only project to date, came out three years ago, and to celebrate its anniversary, the south east Londoner will be releasing a vinyl with the original tracklisting and a set of B-sides.

Teddy Trillion & Lore. - Reality

Linking up on a Latin-infused drill beat, Teddy Trillion and Lore.'s 'Reality' sees the wordsmiths going back to back at a ferocious pace. It's been a prolific 2023 for Trillion and this single is a great introduction to his dexterous discography, which is brimming with unfettered rap cuts.
