London-based producer-DJ Papa Nugs has consistently released a host of bangers this year, but this one takes the biscuit. 'Jacky Boy', released initially as a single and aptly titled on account of his effective sampling of JFK’s space-race speech, delivers undeniably hard, choppy 2-step beats and a progressive buildup that takes you on a multidimensional journey. Demonstrating creative flair across genres, Jacky Boy’s wobbly bassline is a highlight among the tunes on his recently released 3-track EP.

On 'All This Tofu', Papa Nugs pays homage to the squelchy electronica that defined many 90s dancefloors. Zaps, bleeps and phone rings combine in intergalactic fashion, creating an effortless array of cosmic sounds ready to batter festival season soundsystems.

Finishing with two variations of a headsy ghetto tech roller, '145 In A Ford Escort' boasts an old-school sound that works well in both its iterations. The 'vocal cut' is giving Technotronic's 'Pump Up the Jam', but with peak hours of an all-encompassing rave in mind. Meanwhile, the 'Acid Cut' has everything you could want from a dancefloor heater: energy, danceability and a squishy acid hook that will no doubt send crowds completely bonkers.
