Peckham born and raised Scuti made some tidal waves last year with her debut EP This Is Skoo. The 6 track project revelled in woozy trap and U.K. Rap inflections, soundscaping the meticulous world she has crafted for herself. Following its success, buzz was building, blogs were scrambling to write the latest on Scuti and publications as prestigious as ID magazine were running pieces on her.
As momentum increased, Britain descended deeper and deeper into a lockdown. Since then, Scuti has been biding her time. L’Argent, which means the money in French, is the wordsmith’s first single following the EP and it simply does not miss.
Skoo bodies JD. Reid’s psychedelic trap instrumental, definitively delivering potent rhymes and autotune harmonies. The video sees her collecting money from a selection of random places, including someone’s mouth. As always, her hands are permanently strapped to zoots, displaying her intrinsically laid back demeanour.
