VIDEO OF THE WEEK: KNUCKS FT KWENGFACE – LUSCIOUS

Fresh from the success of his breakout mixtape ‘Alpha Place’, which sent shockwaves through the country this summer, Knucks is back with a new single titled ‘Lucious’. Featuring Kwengface, the track comes in a period of prosperity for Knuckles. His latest project peaked at number three in the albums chart, and with a sold-out tour earlier this year, it feels like genuine greatness is just around the corner.

Boasting the unmistakable production of Carns Hill, ‘Lucious’s’ release may have caught fans off-guard, but it will be of no surprise to them that the single is an undeniable banger. Carns’ jolting 808s, searing strings and grumbling basslines nestle under the artists’ verses; it’s a unique take on the genre from the originator himself, who has seen his beats below the voices of every successful drill artist going.

Knucks’ velvety verses call out unoriginal contemporaries whilst alluding to his pending G.O.A.T status. Marking the confidence of a rapper in his prime, the wordplay compares himself to the Dark Knight, and accompanied by the sinister beat, the track soundscapes a Gotham-esque environment. Kwengface touches on more customary Drill topics, inferring a more promiscuous lifestyle.

Created by Dir.LX the visuals see Knucks at the top of his game, smoking cigars and drinking expensive spirits. Interestingly, it also illustrates the inevitable loneliness that comes with success. Pre the video below and stream ‘Luscious’ on any convenient platform.
